How I manage with my ADHD

I used to not always be this stable.  There was a time where I couldn't hold a job, got into car accidents on a regular basis and my life was a mess.  Throughout the years I have learned to manage my Severe Predominantly Inattentive ADHD.  Again, I am not a doctor or a therapist but here are the main ways on how I navigate my life. 1.  Medication  Medication is a necessity tool to living a normal life with Predominantly Inattentive ADHD.  I still have my struggles, but along with a healthy diet, routine and exercise I'm able to minimize my symptoms.  I'll go over some of the medications that are out there in later posts.  Also, you don't have to take medications in the morning.  Take your medicine on your schedule.  If your shift starts at 4 take your medicine sometime in the afternoon.   2.  Exercise  Exercise is another important tool in managing ADHD.  You don't want to overdo it though.  I do 20-30 minut...

About Me: My personal struggle with predominantly inattentive ADHD

"Pay attention?", "Are you okay?" these are two phrases I've been hearing my whole life.  My teachers always commented how I would space out in class, and as I got older people assumed I was sleeping or under the influence.  I have predominantly inattentive ADHD and I'm on the autism spectrum. I'm writing this blog to help others and raise awareness about predominantly Inattentive ADHD. I was formally diagnosed with predominantly Inattetive ADHD at 8 years old.  Formal meaning alot of tests were done to conclude I have ADHD.  A EGG was done to rule out epilepsy, because I spaced out so much.  Since my listening skills were horrendous a series of hearing tests were done. My parents chose therapy over medication.  This was a big mistake.  Looking back I needed medication so bad and therapy did little to help me.  For the next 20 years I struggled with work school, relationships, driving.
